    Because the 2005-2006 data paints a much rosier picture and they can make things sound better than they really are. Same reason the Times and PI are now using MTM appreciation and price numbers rather than Year to Year in a majority of their reports.

    It's all about perspective.

    Given that we're in August 2007, why did they use 2005-2006 data rather than 2006-2007? It's interesting to see what happened years ago, but it's history now.
