Fremont’s “Birdhouse”

Well, here is an interesting one!

Fremont’s “Birdhouse” at 115 N 41st St “was designed to be sustainable, adaptable and built to last. Two master suites both equipped with kitchens, bathrooms and living areas. Exposed interior steel moment frame structure and tension cables, floor to ceiling windows, polished concrete floor with radiant heat and infinity shower tub are just some of the features.” Plus a garage door for the kitchen nook!

Two master suites?? I’m curious to know why you’d build a place with two kitchens. Unless the space is segmented such that you could AirBNB or rent out part of it. Or maybe you and your partner just really don’t like cooking together. Also, I like the fireplace but that slanted chimney would give me a headache.

For $1.25m this 2,476 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath place could be yours. If so, invite me over for the house warming party. Would love to check it out.

Matt, Your blog was a great source of info as we house hunted. We saw your posting of this amazing house. The builder/sculptor did a one-of-a-kind job with design and construction, even pre-planning the sun exposures for the winter and summer solstices. We’re under now contract for it, thanks to the guidance of our awesome agent Tanya Thackery.
