Trulia produced a great visualization of noise complaints in Seattle so you can figure out which are the quiet and which are the loud ‘hoods. Though looking at the results you likely won’t be surprised :).

After living at 12th and Pike, in Trace Lofts, which gets lit up quite a bit on that map, I found the answer is to have a white noise machine. And after moving to a floating home it does a decent job of masking the seaplanes taking off. Can’t sleep without it!
