440′ Condo + Hotel Planned for 2nd & Virginia

By December 4, 2018

Belltown

According to the DJC, Japanese starchitect Kengo Kuma tapped for tower at Terminal Sales Annex site:

Now there’s a new plan for a 440-foot hotel-condominium tower of up to 43 stories, but it hasn’t yet entered design review.

Japanese firm Kengo Kuma & Assoc. is designing the project, with Ankrom Moisan as the local architect of record.

The 1916 Terminal Sales Annex was designed by Bebb & Gould, and landmarked in 2008. The facade will be incorporated into Kuma’s design for a 43-story hotel and condo tower.

Meeting notes with the city describe retail and hotel space on levels one through 14. An unspecified number of condos would occupy levels 15 through 43.

Notable is that with First Light going up at 3rd and Virignia, this will impact their west-facing units, and also notable is that this would be Kengo Kuma’s first Seattle project.
