Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to October, which marks the beginning of the best time of year to be a buyer in terms of getting a deal as sellers are usually fed up and want to be sold by the end of the year. And if you’re looking for a new townhome, developers are usually very motivated.
The big news this week is Expedia is moving to its new Interbay campus starting Monday. We expect that as employees make the transition and become frustrated with their commute we’ll see many of them start to look for homes in Belltown, Queen Anne and Magnolia, giving those markets a shot in the arm. Google is also expanding their footprint, opening the first of five South Lake Union offices, also bringing more buyers to surrounding areas.
As expected, the number of new listings declined this week, though we saw a few interesting ones. Including some artsy ones like this huge home/studio in Ballard and this modern Graham Baba designed one in Wallingford. If you’re looking for a contemporary mid-century modern, we love this remodeled home in Denny Blaine. And loft fans, here’s a penthouse at Merrill Place for $1.75m or there’s this lofty Madison Valley townhome.
Looking to live on the water? There is a brand new floating home in Portage Bay for $3.2m or you can try before you buy with this $11,000 a month rental or a $5,000 a month Westlake one.
Have a good weekend!
