Seattle weekly wrap-up: new listings slowed due to mid-winter break

By February 27, 2022

Market Report

New listings were down 15% week-over-week which is most likely explained by the President’s Day long weekend combined with Seattle public school’s mid-winter break. With many buyers and agents presumably out of town, sellers wait until the first week of March. So we should see a good amount of new listings this coming week, which will kick off the 3-4 busiest months for new listings – March, April, May, and June.

What caught our eye in Seattle while we were on mid-winter break in Hawaii? A $3.3m south-facing Eastlake floating home with amazing views is high on the list as is a waterfront midcentury in Kenmore. Speaking of Kenmore, don’t miss this 1971 John Burrows designed one. Other midcenturies that caught our eye, a $2.6m remodeled one in Magnolia, and one with a pool. If newer and luxury is your thing, don’t miss this $7m home in Medina.

Need a getaway? How about this Port Townsend a-frame, or this cabin in Glacier?

P.S. our next home buying class is March 9th on Zoom
