Seattle weekly wrap-up: new listings jump 30%!
Finally! With spring break now firmly behind us, new listings were up nearly 30% week-over-week in Seattle, breaking 300 for the first time this year giving buyers a lot more options. Speaking of buyers, they put just 201 homes in Seattle under contract last week. As for bidding wars – our clients’ no-contingency fast-closing offer beat out three higher offers for this Hawthorne Hills home, but we lost a bidding war on an Eastside rental!? (It is more competitive to rent on the Eastside than it is to buy!) But if you want to avoid a bidding war, 76% of Seattle listings have been on the market for longer than a week.
With all those new listings, you’d expect some great ones to catch my eye, but nothing in Seattle did except this Meadowbrook midcentury. I did see that five (!) west-facing waterfront listings hit the market on the east side of Lake Washington ranging from $3.65m and already pending to a re-list of this $21.5m Medina modern.
