Seattle weekly wrap-up: 32 offers!?

By September 25, 2021

Market Report

It was a relatively strong week for new listings with nearly 350 new listings, but you can see the slow-down beginning; new listings were down 11% week-over-week. However, buyers were clearly very active putting 340 homes under contract.

The craziest story we heard this past week was that this house in north Seattle received 32 offers!? We can attest the market is still crazy as we had clients offer on a single-family home in Greenwood and it had 6 offers and at 5% over list, ours was the lowest offer! We also had clients offer on a place outside Port Angeles; after two days on market, it had 11 offers.

Lots of eye-catching homes this week – my fave is this remodeled midcentury in Laurelhurst for $2.8m. I was also digging this just remodeled home in the Central District at $2m, but it is already pending! Other standouts – a remodeled midcentury in Seward Park, a $2m remodeled midcentury on Capitol Hill (not many of these on the hill!) Purists will love this untouched West Seattle midcentury by Mithun and Nesland and here’s a relatively untouched one in North Beach.

Thinking of buying this year or next? We’re holding a home buying class October 6th.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
