Interesting Sales Last Week

There were 29 condo and townhouse sales in Seattle last week. Let’s dive in, shall we?

This one-bedroom unit at Madison Lofts finally sold after being on the market for over a year and a half. The sale price was $399,950 for 1,036 square feet. Their website says they are still sitting on two more of them.

Ruby sold a one-bedroom unit this week. It was listed at $289,500, but sold for $280,800. That works out to $351 per square foot, just a hair above the Eastlake neighborhood’s average of $349.

I’m all about modern design, but I’m not sure I could do this much red in my kitchen. Isn’t red supposed to make you hungry? Or is that an urban myth? Or does it work on me anyway because I’ve been exposed to the urban myth so much? Anyway, this very red wall and the surrounding condo (which is in Metropole in Ballard, by the way) just sold for $285,000. It was purchased new in 2007 for $358,500. Ouch.

How about some freakishly green grass to heal your eyeballs from the massive red wall of hunger? Does that look photoshopped to you? At least color filtered? It does to me. Anyway, it’s a two-bedroom townhouse in Capitol Hill that just sold for $310,000. It was listed in January for $350,000 and dropped to $320,000 in March.

There was a resale at Trace Lofts last week as well. This one-bedroom unit sold in September 2007 for $335,107. It was put up for sale in March of this year at $309,950 and sold last week for $294,000. I dig the wood/brick look, but it does make the silver appliances look freakishly out of place. Perhaps black would have been a better choice.
