NY Times: Better photos and floor plans

The New York Times must have read that post about Donald’s dilemma because they have two very relevant articles this weekend.

The first is, Making Every Pixel Count:

When selling properties online, agents and Web designers say that the pictures buyers see of houses and apartments for sale are often the first — and sometimes the only — chance for a seller to make a good impression. Less-than-flattering pictures can turn buyers off and lead to lonely open houses.

Check out the before and after photos that accompany the article. If Donald hires a professional it will be interesting to see the before and after comparison.

The second article, Where Floor Plans Are Sought After, and Why, talks about how floor plans are mandatory when trying to rent your Manhattan apartment. Oddly:

Outside New York, however, floor plans are rarely used as marketing tools by brokers who are reselling houses, although they are more likely to be used by builders of housing developments, who include floor plans as one of the many tools on their Web sites.

I certainly wish all MLS listings had photos and floor plans. Unfortunately listings almost never have floor plans.
