Portage Bay Mid-Century w/Carriage House

Big thanks to our friend Chad for taking us to go see 2930/2914 Harvard Ave E today. It caught our eye earlier in the week. Which is funny since it has been on the market for two months! But the front photo just isn’t that impressive. But once you dive in it is a mid-century marvel:

And actually it is a 2 for 1 deal. You get a 3 bed, 4 bath, mid-century house built in 1957 as well as a 3 bed, 1 bath carriage house built in 1916. Here’s the carriage house:

The main house has been mostly remodeled with a killer kitchen and master bath. Though the master bath has no door and the toilet is basically open to the bedroom which is a little weird. The living and dining room is dominated by a monster fireplace which I’d replace with something much smaller. There’s also a full height unfinished basement/rec room that with a wall of windows.

The carriage house has been fully remodeled and would make a great rental.

Overall we liked the place, but being right next to I-5, it is more than a little noisy :(. Though you are just a few blocks away from then north end of Eastlake…
