Weekly Wrap-up
Big real estate news this week as the senate passed two real estate bills; SB-5334 that reforms condo liability and should spur more condo development by limiting developer and HOA liability (yay!). The other, SB-5998, increases the excise tax for sales over $1.5m, and really increases it for sales over $3m, but lowers it for sales under $500k. In other news, 210 Comstock, an 8-unit boutique condo on Queen Anne started selling and already has 3 units pending (check out our new construction report for May for more condo developments.) And if you see a “not for sale sign” in a yard this is what that means.
With new listings up again, a lot caught our eye! Our faves – this 1956 mid-century by Robert Dietz in Magnolia. Wow! Followed by an “eco-modern” by Sean Bell in deep West Seattle, a sweet Capitol Hill loft, an updated mid-century on Mercer Island, an older townhome that breaks the mold, as well as a new one in Highland Park. If you’re looking for something cheaper, here’s an updated mid-century in Burien. And if you’re looking for a project, will it be Wedgwood, or Beacon Hill?
Get ready for summer with this end-of-dock Eastlake houseboat we just listed, only $375k. Or at 12x the price, a mid-century waterfront in Laurelhurst. But really this 1928 waterfront log cabin is too cute.
