Weekly wrap-up: new listings almost slowed down to normal
New listings slowed dramatically last week as many listing agents likely advised people to list well ahead of the election. We’re now much closer to our usual pace of new listings after four months of running hotter than normal due to covid.
Of the 251 new listings last week our faves were a 1963 waterfront Bainbridge Island waterfront (gotta love cedar) and on the other island of the island this waterfront home. This Tacoma home also caught our eye.
While listings slow, buyer interest remains strong, which is why we felt okay bringing on two new listings last week a townhome at the Secret Garden on Capitol Hill and a view condo in a mid-century building in Lower Queen Anne. It’ll be very interesting to see how the election distraction impacts buyer demand this week.
Last week the Seattle Times took a look at what’s happening with rents and the concessions being offered by big buildings. I suspect that some of those rental deals are a contributing reason as to why condo sales are so sluggish (except at the Four Seasons). For investors, here’s a great presentation on what is happening around the region.
Need further election distraction? The Seattle Times also had a good article on Dwell Developments recent preservation renovations.
