Weekly Wrapup
The big news this week is that the number of new listings in June spiked while the median price decreased from May to June, the first time it has done so in years. This is bringing welcome relief to buyers who now have much greater selection and fewer bidding wars while it is making on-market sellers very nervous. Read our full take on the market on the blog. And if you’re on the fence about buying or selling, we’re always happy to grab a coffee or beer to talk about it in-depth.
In terms of offer writing, we wrote a couple:
- Helped a client buy a brand new home in Maple Valley (of all places!) and got him a $20,000 closing cost credit and $5,000 worth of window coverings
- Helped another client win a competitive offer situation on a Capitol Hill home that only went 15%+ over asking
This is what caught our eye elsewhere:
- Seattle Times, A modern remodel in Bellevue creates a dramatically geometric family home
- WSJ, Affluent—and Angry—Homeowners Raise Ruckus Over Roar of Overhead Planes
- WSJ, Farmhouse Fever Sweeps City Homes
- Seattle Times’ idiotic editorial, Don’t upzone Seattle neighborhoods
