Weekly Wrapup
The gossipy news this week was the record setting sale of a $12m Belltown penthouse, that was, and will continue to be used as pied-a-terre. If that isn’t crazy enough, consider it is in a 1980s building and the dues are $9,500 a month.
But the real news this week is that the city passed an upzone on 27 neighborhoods. I’m glad to see we’re upzoning, but wish we had upzoned more and higher.
In condo news, a new condo building, “206 Place”, is proposed for the International District, there’s a new condo building selling in Edmonds, and Solis on Capitol Hill has restarted sales.
Of the ~280 new listings that hit the market this week, we listed one, a charming Maple Leaf home that has 3 pre-inspections scheduled so far. Our picks are these good looking new townhomes in Highland Park, a modern industrial West Seattle home, a mid-century modern in Windermere, a $3.7m Broadmoor contemporary, a live/work at the Gallery, and a Stuart Silk “treehouse” (and then there’s this Fall City treehouse (that comes with an estate)!)
