Weekly Wrapup
It was kind of a funny week! People returned from spring break but it being Easter this weekend many listing agents likely advised holding off until listing next week. None-the-less we saw a little over 300 new listings hit the market. One of our faves, a custom built home on Queen Anne went pending in days at $3.385m. Followed by a brand new penthouse at Escala, and a home at the Sanctuary re-listed. For the DIY set, here’s a permitted 3,800 sf home in Roosevelt, and how do we miss this Kundig Olson home last week? Plus we listed a colorful top floor corner unit at Belltown Court, one of the few buildings that allows Airbnb.
Floating home selling season is also getting started and remarkably two larger, three bedroom ones hit the market this week – one for $1.7m on the Dox dock and a $2.4m one on Roanoke Reef. We checked them both out so if you have questions, let me know as we just helped a buyer get under contract on this Westlake one. But if you want to live close to, but not literally on the water, here’s a cute waterfront cottage in Ballard for $675k.
This week I learned that there is a new condo in Edmonds that is 67% sold! Remarkable that they’re out selling every Seattle condo except Nexus; turns out down-sizers love Edmonds and if you price right, condos will sell. Speaking of new condos, here’s an update on Solis and it is remarkable what these sales galleries cost! In other real estate news, we’re filling up those brand new apartments faster than before. This is good news for the amateur landlords out there.
And just to show we all make real estate mistakes. We had the opportunity to buy this Central District home for $665k back in 2013 when we were renting it but I thought it was over priced and it is now listed for $1.15m. But had we bought it, we likely wouldn’t have ended up living on the water in a floating home, which will be nice this weekend once the sun comes out :).
