Weekly Wrapup
It is slim pickings for buyers this time of year! Only about a 100 new listings last week, which isn’t much, but is an improvement from Thanksgiving week’s 70 or so. What we’re seeing in the field is that buyers are still actively touring and well priced homes are selling quickly. For instance, the only listing to really catch our eye last week was a restored Tudor in Laurelhurst for $2.795m and it is already pending.
Generally our counsel to buyers right now is patience as there isn’t much for sale. We’ll see a lot more options in the new year as March to June is when we see the most new listings (300 to 400+ a week). While our counsel to sellers is to lay the ground work now for listing in the new year (ideally early in the year).
On Friday the Seattle Times has published their take on the market – It’s a home seller’s market as King County sees ‘November surprise’. But sellers, don’t get too excited, it isn’t the sellers market that we saw 2014-2017.
