Seattle weekly wrap-up: another record week for new listings
Another big week for new listings! There were 448 new listings in Seattle this week while buyers put 352 listings under contract. With a late Memorial Day this year, we could see another two big weeks for new listings before the summer slowdown starts.
The talk amongst agents this week is that the condo market seems to be recovering, as well-priced new condo listings are going pending quickly and in some cases receiving multiple offers. Just look at the staggering amount of condos that went under contract in April. The most in a month since 2007.
As for new construction, Spire, the new construction condo at 6th and Wall is doing well having put 25 units under contract in the last couple of months (and prices have been inching up on popular plans). We toured Spire again recently, it is looking good! We also hear that One88 is down to 3 developer-owned units.
Speaking of new construction, the Seattle Times looks at the impact of lumber prices on projects around the area.
Surprisingly just a couple of great houses this week. Our fave is this home designed by CAST Architecture on Queen Anne (blends in on the outside, yet contemporary inside.) We also like this contemporary home in Lakewood and this updated midcentury blocks from Green Lake.
